BOSS UP THE VIEW

Country living is all about the VIEW. Whether cooking up a storm or washing up it’s all about rolling fields, village spires, cute twisty turn-y lanes and peace.

You def wanna make the mosta of that vista. And windows are like mascara for the house. Usually the first thing in any mega reno is replacing old rotten windows. But boring white Home Depot contractor frames won’t cut it here.

We need something more curated.

Let’s Boss It Up a bit with custom Heritage Black Steel windows and floor to ceiling patio doors. They just do it for me. Whether set into red brick or smoky dark matte sidings, it’s a HUGE contemporary upgrade for any country pad.

Put them in your little red barn and turn it into a games room or guesthouse retreat.

Minimal but with a heritage vibe these wall to wall, ceiling to step patio doors let the light flood in so we can enjoy the outdoor views of pretty red barns, swaying cornfields and 100 year old Elm trees.

Not steel everywhere.
Reclaiming vintage doors and retro fitting them inside the house helps transition from kitchen to grand room (with vaulted ceilings). This protects the warm woody atmosphere, and inlaid glass allows the sunlight to flow. I suggest a very soft dark walnut stain, so the vintage doors blend with the black steel windows.

WALL OF STEEL & GLASS
For a barn conversion especially featuring airy vaulted ceilings, I love the way these black steel windows integrate into the barns original support beams seamlessly.

I’d add some softening semi sheer drapes or minimal blinds, to keep the heat out and warmth in.

Two-way glass is a good privacy option too.

Kinda digging the washed oak floors and hanging fireplace.
